Kromrey Robotics Club is one of the many clubs and activities provided by Kromrey Middle School, in the Middleton-Cross Plains School District (MCPASD) in Dane County, Wisconsin.
Logistics
We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45pm – 5:00pm (school days only) in Room 600.
Setup and Cleanup: A team will be assigned at each meeting to set up the field and clean up the field at the end. Everyone is responsible for general cleanup:
○ Put away tools and clean your work area.
○ Return all robotics parts to their storage containers.
○ No parts should be left on the floor or tables.
○ Put away chairs.
○ No one leaves before cleanup is complete.
Expectations
● Respect: Respect your fellow club members, the coach, and the equipment.
● Safety First: No horseplay or unsafe behavior. If unsure whether something is permitted, ask the coach.
● Active Listening: When the coach is speaking, give them your full attention. No talking or distractions.
● Workspace: Stay at your assigned table unless you need to get parts or have permission from the coach
to move around.
● Care of Equipment: Robotics parts are small, expensive, and easy to lose. Handle them with care.
Teamwork
● Team Structure: Teams of 4-5 members will be formed and may be adjusted throughout the season.
● Collaboration: Work together respectfully and support your teammates.
● Communication: If you have a problem with a team member, talk to the coach.
● Stay Engaged:
○ If you don’t have a task, ask the coach or a senior team member for one.
○ Observe and learn from others when you have downtime.
○ Active participation is expected; this is a learning environment.
Consequences
●Disruptive behavior will result in a reminder.
● Students who receive 3 reminders may be asked to leave the club.
Advisor
The volunteer club advisor is Thanh Do, a parent who is passionate about bring STEM learning to our kids through robotics. He started the club in the 2023-2024 school year.
